Our History

The Building

This turreted Victorian corner building on Cardigan Road dates back to the late 1800s, part of the historic development that followed the closure of the Leeds Zoological & Botanical Gardens. With its red brick façade, arched sash windows, and iconic turret, the building reflects the classic charm of the Victorian era and the evolving identity of Headingley and Burley.

But for us, this building is far more than architecture; it’s part of our family’s legacy.

A Family Legacy

Many years ago, this property was purchased by our late grandfather, Mr. Din a man of quiet strength and deep purpose. In the 1960s, he worked on ferries, doing honest, physical work to build a future for his family. Later, he settled in Leeds and invested in this very building — not just as property, but as a symbol of dignity and hope.

He believed in building something lasting. What others passed by, he preserved, and this building has remained in our family ever since.

Every restoration, every design decision, and every guest we welcome carries a piece of that vision. Mr. Din may no longer be with us, but his values, hard work, dignity, and faith in the future remain in every brick.

Restoration & Reinvention

In 2023, the downstairs shop was damaged by fire. Thankfully, the upper floors were largely untouched. We took that moment to restore and reimagine the space, creating a self-contained boutique studio that blends industrial design with authentic warmth.

The result is the Luxury Industrial Studio, a unique serviced apartment featuring exposed brick, vintage appliances, mood lighting, and handcrafted details. Every element reflects a balance of heritage and modern style.

In loving memory of Mr. Din
Always part of the foundation.
Miss you, Grandad.
